Our History
For over 30 years, Rich Light has been a driving force in automotive detailing and surface protection. As the founder and CEO of Gloss-It™, he built one of the nation’s most respected paint correction, ceramic coating, and paint protection film studios in Las Vegas.
What began as a passion for perfection has evolved into a vertically integrated brand—Gloss-It Detail Studio, Gloss-It University, and Gloss-It EVO Professional Products—serving thousands of enthusiasts, installers, and businesses nationwide.
Rich’s pursuit of quality and performance led him to formulate his own premium detailing line and develop advanced training through Gloss-It University, empowering professionals both online and in person.
Today, Rich continues to elevate the art of detailing and inspire the next generation of entrepreneurs through a simple yet powerful vision: To redefine excellence, craftsmanship, and success in automotive care.
Boston, MA
1990
Rich Light opened our first detail studio, formerly known as Granite Auto Grooming in Boston, Massachusetts. Now known as Gloss-It Detail Studio.
Las Vegas, NV
1995
Moving from the East Coast to the West Coast, Gloss It reopened in Las Vegas, NV on Spring Mountain Road.
1997
Disappointed with the performance of current detailing chemicals on the market, Gloss It hired a chemist to develop and formulate the first Gloss It Car Care products that we know and love today.
2007
The Gloss It brand was officially established at the SEMA Show in Las Vegas, NV.
2012
Now expanding, Gloss It opened a second location in Ft Lauderdale, FL.
2013
As the Gloss It brand grew, Gloss It Headquarters was moved to Hacienda in Las Vegas, NV.
2018
After heavy expansion, Gloss It Headquarters relocated to an even larger facility on Post Road in Las Vegas, NV.
