On this edition of the weekly buff we have yet another Tesla Model Y in Red mist. Tesla usually doesnt do well with their paint condition straight from the factory unless its their new premium colors with metallic flake which come in decent condition. the owner decided to go with a Full body PPF to prevent rock chips, and a ceramic coating after to prevent staining on the film itself.
The first thing we did as always is a full decontamination wash and exterior detail. We used our EVO Shampoo along with the EVO Foam Cannon, and a mild green clay bar to remove anything abrasive that may have been stuck on the paint finish that could introduce more damage during correction if not removed. We also used our EVO Wheel Gel as well as Gloss IT APC to help with breaking down brake dust as well as inside the wheel wells.
Once that was completed the next step was to begin paint correction. Josh and Jr made the call to also use a White Foam 100ppi pad along with our 3000 Finishing polish to remove the final small amount of haze they could see in the paint.
Once that was complete we moved the Tesla over to the rack so that Jon and Josh could begin the PPF install. We are applying a full nose full hood, fenders, bumper, mirrors, and headlights. We wrap all of our edges meaning you wont see any lines on the vehicle of get a “partial install” that protects only a quarter of your hood and leaves the rest unprotected. Josh always does an amazing job alongside Jon. When they were complete, the final step was to apply a full array of our Ceramic Coatings starting with our EVO PRO Graphene Ceramic coating to protect the paint finish from UV damage, permanent water spots, as well as permanent staining from bugs, bird droppings, etc. We also applied our EVO Plastic Renew & Protect to give all the plastic trim years of protection against fading from the sun, our EVO Wheel & Caliper coating to make it much easier to clean and prevent staining from brake dust on your wheels, as well as our EVO Glass coating to help prevent water spot on your glass and windshield.
Once the vehicle was complete the owner came in to pick it up, and was blown away by the difference from when he dropped it off.
