On this edition of the weekly buff we have a Porsche Macan that a new customer brought to us after another shop did a sub par ceramic coating on the entire finish. They left high spots swirls, and scratches on almost the entire finish on the vehicle. We let them know we could handle it but we would need to perform paint correction and then reapply ceramic coating to make it look proper how it should look.
The first step as always begins with a full decon wash with fresh wash mits, EVO PRO shampoo, Claybar to remove anything abrasive, as well as APC to remove any bugs that may have been on the paint from driving in the vegas weather.
Once that was complete Jr and Andrew began the paint correction process. First they tape off any edges that could be areas that are crucial to not burn paint on. They then start with our EVO Heavy Cut polish along with EVO wool pads to try and find a solid pad and polish combo to remove the deep imperfections in the paint and also to remove the ceramic coating that was poorly applied beforehand. This was followed up by a foam pad along with our EVO finishing polish to remove any haze and marring that may be left from the wool cutting pad.
The final step was to apply an array of our EVO PRO Ceramic Coatings We used 9H Titanium on the paint finish, along with our EVO Wheel & Caliper coating, EVO Plastic Renew & Protect, and last but not least EVO Glass Coating to protect every exterior surface of the vehicle and leave it looking better than the day they purchased it.
