On this edition of the weekly buff we have a beautiful 1966 lincoln continental in gloss black. This continental was powered by a four hundred and sixty two cubic inch V8 engine putting out 340Hp, and on this convertible suicide doors were featured. The paint however needed a lot of work to get it looking showroom ready again like it would have on its purchase date in 1966. The owner had taken it to two other previous shops in Las Vegas and had to take it back multiple times which still left the paint looking like it does in the video needing immense help to get it back to where it should be.
Our crew of Andrew and Josh began the paint correction with our EVO eight hundred heavy cut polish along with our maroon microfiber pads that will begin to remove the deep imperfections in the paint finish. They start section by section till they have completed their test panel to ensure that this pad and product combination is working properly. Certain areas in the paint required dry sanding with two thousand grit sand paper to remove deep scratches that had been in the paint for years. Once the team completed the first heavy cutting step they moved on to a polishing step with our blue foam pads along with our EVO three thousand finishing polish to remove any marring that could be left from the cutting step, along with bringing out the depth of shine that makes the lincoln continental look like it is ceramic coated even though the customer chose to only do paint correction and opted out of any ceramic coating, wax, or ppf to protect it further as he only drives this on the weekends and it stays indoors most of the time.
As you can see in the video, the before and after paint correction speaks for itself. The lincoln continental came in looking mistreated and like its last wash was back in its day, but the team worked their magic left the vehicle looking like a brand new paint job had been done to it.
