On this edition of the weekly buff we have a 2015 Chevy SS in Alchemy purple which was only produced for one year as a color option, and was the most rare color for an SS to be in. This came with a 6.2L V8 LS3 motor putting out 415Hp and 415ft-lb Torque which for a 4 door sedan at the time was more than impressive and came in a 6 speed automatic.
Some of the pieces of the vehicle needed to be repainted, but the owner said no He would rather do a 2 step paint correction, and remove as many imperfections as possible then apply a ceramic coating to give it protection from the elements and preserve what could be of the original paint. The first thing the crew started on was the prep using EVO Shampoo, claybar to remove anything abrasive and not add any additional damage during the correction process.
We also used our EVO wheel gel to remove any iron deposits on the wheels before any polishing or coating can go down on them as well. Once that was complete the crew completed a 3 step correction first using a wool pad along with our EVO 800, even dry sanding certain areas with deep scratches that required it. The second step was a microfiber pad along with our EVO 2000 cut finish, then a final polishing step with our EVO 3000 finishing polish to remove any marring left in the paint from the other polishes. The final step was to apply a full line of our EVO PRO Ceramic Coatings.
We used our EVO Wheel & Caliper Coating that will provide up to two years of protection with proper maintenance will make them much easier to clean. We used our EVO Glass coating on all the glass on the exterior of it, our EVO Plastic Renew & Protect on any exterior plastic trim that can be protected. The final one was our EVO PRO Ceramic Coating on the entire finish in two layers to provide years of protection to the paint finish.
